Student Proxy Access FAQ Student Proxy Access FAQ

What is the purpose of Proxy Access?

The purpose of the Proxy Access system is to allow you to give someone else (typically a parent or guardian) limited access to your SSB-based information as a proxy or guest of your account.

How do I set up a Proxy Access for a parent?

For a visual guide to setting up Proxy Access, click here for a Mediasite video. You will need to sign into SSB and go to the main menu. From there, you will see a tab in the navigation bar along the top of the window marked Proxy Access. Clicking it will take you to a new screen that will have only one option, Proxy Management. This will take you to a new screen where you will see an option to Add Proxy. Click it and a form will appear. You will type the first name, last name, and email address of the person you want to give access to into the relevant fields. Click Add Proxy to confirm. After the form processes (this may take a few moments) you will see a new option on the screen with your proxy's name on it. Clicking their name will bring up the Proxy Management form. Here you can set your relationship, a descriptor to help you remember which is which, a Passphrase (They will need this if they call ENMU regarding their proxy status) and the start and end dates for their access, which defaults to one year from today. The other tab of note is the Authorizations tab, where you can set what they have access to. When you have set your proxy account up as you prefer, you can simply close the browser window or navigate away, as it saves automatically.

What if I no longer want my parent to view my information?

If you no longer want your parent (or other proxy) to see your information, you can remove their proxy status. To do this, go back to the Proxy Management page, click their name, and select Delete Proxy Relationship at the bottom of the form. You will then need to confirm that you would like to delete the relationship.

What information can I display with Proxy Access?

Under the Authorization tab of the Proxy Management form, you will see a series of checkboxes. These indicate what pages you can give your proxy access to. If you would like to give them complete access, simply select the first checkbox, which will give them access to everything. Otherwise, you can select individual checkboxes to give more granular access.

Can my parent change anything via Proxy Access?

No, your parent or proxy cannot modify any of the information that they have access to. If your proxy believes that the information is in error, they will have to contact you and you will then contact the university.

Can I set up different access levels for different people?

Each proxy is completely independent of each other, yes. If you would like one proxy to have full access and another to only have access to one page, that can be accomplished. Use the Authorization tab on the Proxy Management form for each proxy to set their permissions as you prefer.

What is the Proxy Access System?

The Proxy Access system allows your child to give you access to records such as financial information, grades, and similar information. Once you have been given access to these records, you can view them at any time. You will not be able to change any information that you view.

How do I enroll in the Proxy Access System?

As a parent or guardian, you cannot actually enroll in the Parent Proxy system yourself. You will need to be enrolled in the program by your student. They will also set which pages you can and cannot see. If you would like your access changed, you will need to talk to your student, as they are the only one who can change it.

How do I make an account?

Click Here to view a video explaining the Proxy Access System.

After your student gives you access, you will receive an email with a link to the ENMU website. Included in this email will be an Action Password, which you will need to copy to your clipboard or otherwise make a note of. Then you will need to create a new password of your own.

How do I access my student's information?

To access your student's information, sign into Banner using the following link:

You will need to enter your email address and password. This will take you to a new page where you will have links to the various information your student has authorized you to see.
