Minimize

Eastern New Mexico University, a public, comprehensive four-year and graduate Hispanic Serving Institution (HSI), proposes to increase enrollment, retention, and graduation in STEM programs, particularly for underrepresented and low-income students, by improving access and opportunities for students' educational and career success.

The HSI STEM Grant goals at ENMU are to:

  • Conduct early engagement by reaching out to STEM freshmen, transfer students, and pre-college students

  • Promote 2+2 articulation agreements to provide a smooth transfer from 2 to 4 year institutions

  • Enhance students' self-identification and persistence within STEM fields through research experiences, supplemental instruction, internships etc.

ENMU has been awarded the HSI-STEM Grant from the US Department of Education for two consecutive 5-year terms.
