Social Work Student Resources

Students occasionally find themselves looking for additional resources. We've found a few we think might be helpful in your studies:

SWK Listserve

The SWK department maintains a listserve for our students. This group contains information specific to our department as well as immediate announcements such as class cancellations, re-schedulings, etc. Students are strongly advised to subscribe to the listserve and check their email each day.

Subscribe online. You will be notified that you must be approved and should receive a confirmation email when you have successfully subscribed.

Once you have subscribed, you may post messages at: swk@itsvv409.enmu.edu. Attachments are supported, but may be held for approval if they are very large. Please also be advised that you MUST type text into the subject line.

Writing & Presentation Supports

ENMU has a fully staffed writing lab on campus to assist our students in developing and refining their written communication skills. The Writing Center can be found in the Jack Williamson Liberal Arts Center , JWLA 114. Call 562.2793 for semester hours and to schedule an appointment. It is available to all ENMU students.

Short questions may be submitted by email to: Writing.Center@enmu.edu. For Distance Education students, questions may be submitted to the Online Writing Center (OWL).

Students often ask for information regarding American Psychological Association writing requirements. APA Style Resources and the Purdue Online Writing Center can help with these needs. Tips for oral presentations are also available online.

Council on Social Work Education (CSWE)

The Council on Social Work Education (CSWE) is a nonprofit national association representing more than 3,000 individual members as well as graduate and undergraduate programs of professional social work education. Founded in 1952, this partnership of educational and professional institutions, social welfare agencies, and private citizens is recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation as the sole accrediting agency for social work education in this country. Visit CSWE at www.cswe.org.
