Viva Las CDIS! - Homecoming 2012

The CDIS Program participated in ENMU's Homecoming Parade over the weekend of September 25.  The theme?  Vegas, baby!  Our graduate assistants put together a Vegas-themed float including wild animal tamers, slot machines, Elvis, and a particularly large set of cards.  We were decked out in spades (well actually, in diamonds!)

NSSLHA also donated their time and effort in constructing the float, in addition to two lovely showgirls to bind the whole look together.

Despite the rainy weather and construction work blocking the parade's usual route, the festivities marched down South Avenue C and were attended by hundreds of students and residents of Portales.  With CDIS posters gracing the sides of the float, we were wonderfully represented in the parade's lineup.

Care to be a wild card next year? Please contact a CDIS Graduate Assistant for details on how you can be involved in next year's parade.

Health Fairs and Area Events

The ENMU Speech and Hearing Rehabilitation Outreach Center conducts free screenings at all ENMU Health Fairs. Please contact Mr. Dwayne Wilkerson if you would like to participate. This is an excellent way to earn screening hours! We also staff information booths every year at area events in the community. Please contact Ms. Laura Bucknell if you would like to participate.
